Stargazer Lilies

Matt planted my favorite flowers a few years ago and this year had to be one of their best blooms!

A Quick Visit from Grandma and Grandpa

Aaron enjoyed sharing reading time and showing them his puzzle. Owen shared lots of laughs and showed them how he rolls over.

Girls!

There was no shortage of attention from the ladies. We got a giggle over how aggressive the little toddler girls were with Aaron and how he started the week looking to us for escape but before the week was out very assertively kept them at bay. Not having a sister doesn't seem to be a problem since he frequently is surrounded by little girls!

Camp Good News

Camp was filled with dirt so Aaron was in heaven having it constantly at his disposal. He spent a lot of time shooting hoops and swinging "high into the skies" and learning new things such as how to stand for the pledge of allegiance. He was in a constant state of excitement and discovery. Owen had a rougher time but enjoyed being held a lot and trying to grab the camera.

Going to Work with Daddy

One of the perks of being a "pk" is that the family gets to do special things together even while Daddy is on the job. We make every effort to include the boys so that they ultimately feel a part of the ministry and see it as a blessing and opportunity. Aaron loved camp and still continues to say "its fun"!

good times together

Lately, Aaron has really taken to initiating interaction with Owen. He is quick to help or to soothe or to try to have fun with him. He keeps talking about being able to "share and play together" when Owen gets bigger!

Life in the Body

Last week was full of such a beautiful, satisfying sense of being fully engaged in a local church body that is like an extended family. We shared in the rejoicing of those who had reason to rejoice and we shared in the sadness of those who had difficult situations arise...and everthing in between. The weekend started with a father/son trip to a baseball game in Portland, ME. Everyone had a great time even though it rained. It was Aaron's first time to a professional game and he is still talking about it. The weekend ended with Matt conducting his first baptisms. He baptized 1 teenage boy and 2 younger girls...all of whom we have been a part of their lives for years so it felt very natural to see Matt be a part of such a significant step in their young lives. It is a true blessing to be in a church where people feel like they are engaged in our lives and that of our children as well. Aaron has many friends that he knows by name now and whenever we say we are doing something "fun" or with "friends" he immediately asks if we are going to church. We are thrilled that he has such a positive association to church.

Discoveries

Owen loves finding his toes and recently he also found his tongue!

U.S. Map

Since Borders is going out of business :( we took advantage of the discount and bought a puzzle for him that we were originally going to wait till he got a little older. No worries though! He had it mastered in less than 48 hours and it has been a very helpful tool in showing him where we live and all the relatives. It is so cute to hear him pronounce the different state names in his 2 yr. old speech. I love that he is enjoying something that is special to Matt and I...traveling and developing a love for our country. He of course didn't want brother to miss out and started showing him the different pieces. We had to explain to Aaron that Owen couldn't tell him the name of the state right now, no matter how long he stood there and waited!
