A View From the Throne

Over the years I have periodically heard moms comment on how there is NO more privacy...well this snapshot about sums it up! Even Precious came and got in line for the show!

Staying Cool

Aaron FINALLY had a chance to swim in the sun...the summer has been so wet and mild and busy that it took till the middle of August! We enjoyed an afternoon with friends from church and sharing another precious moment in Aaron's life with them. Ever since he was "announced" I have enjoyed the warmth and caring and involvement of this community in his life. Especially in the absence of our own families (due to excruciating distances), it's a very dear thing to have this "extended" family to share this special time of our family life.

Highchair

Aaron's adventures in eating new foods are complete with his very own seat! He is showing to be quite independent. He really wants to use the spoon and do it all himself! The first time we gave him a "finger food" he tried to put in on the spoon before getting it in his mouth. He didn't quite succeed with the spoon but still finally figured out how to put it in his mouth and gum it!

Chillin' with the College Kids

Aaron was the subject of many pictures at our campout last weekend!

Horses!

The other day I was passing by the window and instead of the usual herd of cows, these horses took over the fields instead! It was such a treat to watch them run and frolic around for a couple of days. They are gone now and the cows are back in full force with lots of calves in tow. I LOVE our neighbors!!!

Baby Falcon

We've had a new visitor lately around the deck!

Having fun

Aaron went on his first camping trip this weekend (with our college group). He did great and slept better than the rest of us (we were all too cold...in August...I am done with tent camping in Maine!). This is one of his favorite people (and mine too!)- our leader, Aimee. He gets excited whenever he sees her.

I am a "Big Boy" now

Life gets easier the more independent Aaron gets...now that he can sit in a cart, no more toting the car seat around the store!!!!! He much prefers the view this way. And of course, this milestone happened at Lowe's!

Green Grass at the Park in Camden

Matt and I took a quick getaway to the coast recently and had a chance to let Aaron play in the grass barefoot! He likes to be free- just like his mama!

Swimming

We have tried several times this summer to introduce Aaron to swimming but it's been an abnormally colder, wetter season so we weren't able to get him in the water until recently...and even at that it was in our Pastor's covered pool! He loved it but I think he likes his baths more!

A day at Maine's Lobster Festival

We had a great time visiting with Doyle recently and introducing Aaron to lobster!

Speed Crawling

Aaron took off once he learned to crawl! We finally figured out how to baby proof some of the more obvious problem areas...however we are convinced that Aaron's favorite game is "Look, you missed one!" He is very quickly learning the word "No."

Who Needs Fisher Price?

Veggies!

Aaron's first food after cereal was homegrown garden fresh peas! This week we tried sweet potatoes and next we're on to carrots. We wanted him to taste veggies before the sweet fruits. However the peas and potato are so sweet that I don't know if it will make much difference! He's taken to everything immediately-sippy cup, cereal, food. He doesn't have to have things at a certain temperature or consistency...I'm so glad he's not a picky baby! When he eats, he has a habit of making lots of noises like "mmm"--he reminds me of Bob eating chicken in "What About Bob"--it's quite a giggle!
