Lovin' the Toes

A Day in the Sun

On Memorial Day we enjoyed hanging out with some friends at a nearby park on a lake. This was our first lengthy exposure to the sun and the place where I burned while pregnant last year..with Aaron's fair skin we did not want to take any chances. However he's too young for sunscreen so it was somewhat challenging to keep him covered, but other than temporarily rosy cheeks, he made it!

The Greatest Invention for a 4 month old

In all the piles of lists given to expecting parents, why oh why did the BUMBO seat not make the cut??? Recently while a visiting friend was observing Aaron she suggested that he might enjoy this..she couldn't be more right!!! I LOVE it!!!! It makes feeding him cereal so much easier and allows me to put him down so he can watch me in the kitchen or bathroom when I need both hands free. And he's enjoying one more way to not be lying on his blanket on the floor. Talk about a win-win!!!

Signs of the Seasons

One of the things I LOVE about Maine is the changing of the seasons...and right now that means I get the joy of rediscovering what is planted in our yard as buds come open (it's amazing how quickly I forget what's planted!), the promise of fresh fruit and vegetables to come (this year I am staying out of the garden so it will help rather than hurt our budget--we figured after 2 years of a bad sunburn and then mysterious bug bite that I was too much of a liability!), and the constant scenic views of the cows (who seem as curious about us as we are of them) and now a neighboring fox (who fortunately has enough to eat so that Precious is not on her radar)!

Waterfalls

We discovered while at Valley Ranch that Aaron loves the sound of waterfalls. This one is at the camp we were at earlier this week.

So True

I love this outfit because it is soooo fitting! He did let us nap on Mother's Day so he gets brownie points for that!! Matt made my 2nd Mother's Day (the first he was in the womb and we were in shock) special but nothing could beat the gift of sleep right now!

A Brief Reprieve

Aaron had his first couple of nights in a hotel! We were sent on a pastor's conference at a local camp. They had not finished the renovations to the room we were to be in onsight so they put us up in a nearby lodge. We had amazing views all around, lots of privacy, and a giant room! What a wonderful surprise. It was nice to not have to prepare meals or be busy with our normal stuff for a couple of days. We enjoyed being spiritually "fed" together...not something we get to do very often and so it's always so special when the opportunity arises!

All Aboard!

We've been given an unbelievable amount of clothing...so I have fun putting on a fashion show every day for daddy! I can't help but think of the pregnancy center clients who struggle to provide for their own child...I will enjoy sharing all these blessings with others whenever we no longer need little boy clothes...that makes these gifts a double blessing!

Milestones

Aaron is growing so much...he can almost roll over, he giggles, he reaches for his toys or feet, he sits up well...it's so fun to watch the progress and cheer on all these little steps!
