Old Stomping Grounds
We really enjoyed seeing so much progress at both CareNet and Valley Ranch. God has been so gracious towards both places of such value to me! It was refreshing just being in Houston in general with respect to the economy...however I was glad to get back to fresh air and green trees (thankfully the world was no longer white here!!!)

Meeting Uncle Kevin and Aunt Matilda
We love that Aaron has family in the north and south so he will be exposed to different ways of life (although we miss not having loved ones close by). Of course this also brings challenges such as the different ways to pronounce "aunt" (more like "ant" in the south). We think he came back with a slight southern drawl to his cries! My brother took diapering lessons from Matt while in town...but we couldn't get him to actually take the plunge!
Discoveries
Aaron's First Trip
Aaron has fortunately turned out to be quite a smooth and easy traveler. He spread smiles from New England to Texas! It was fun to see how people responded to him...it's amazing to me how even strangers open up to you or try to pass a word of congratulations and encouragement when they see a baby. Continental gave him a pair of wings to mark his first flight!
My Obgyn
We had to catch a picture of our wonderful doctor...even though she was the first person to see Aaron, she didn't get to really hold him until a couple of weeks ago at our checkup. It's hard to believe that after so many visits we won't see her again until 2010--wahoo!!!! (although we'll miss seeing her personally) We feel very blessed to have had her part of this journey!

De Ja Vu
I went to my final doctor's appointment this week (wahoo!!!!!!!) and everything checked out great! We had to feed when we arrived so they let us use this room...the same one we spent LOTS of time in the last couple of months of my pregnancy so they could keep my contractions and his movements monitored. We enjoyed seeing everyone again and it feels very strange after having spent so much time there to not see them again for a whole year.
Aaron had his checkup today and a round of shots. All is well and he's almost 10 pounds (which is about what we thought since it's finally felt recently like he outweighs Precious!)
Making Friends
Over the last 7.5 weeks, we have exposed Aaron to people slowly and in smaller settings (usually at the house). We've been out a lot with doctor's appointments and errands, etc but have tried to keep his direct exposure during flu season to a minimum. We also weren't sure how easily he would get overstimulated. So far in every setting he has either been asleep or seemed to enjoy the interactions with others. Of course all of his interactions involve people doting on and praising him so who wouldn't enjoy that?! Aaron found this little boy in the picture quite fascinating and responded to him quite differently than he does with adults. Aaron has also chaperoned Matt and I on a few dates including his first boy scout dinner (hey, we gotta take our dates however we can get them!). When we took him to his first youth group night, one of the deacons accidentally gave him his first communion (all over his head and carseat while emptying the trays)! Aaron didn't seem the least bit disturbed and we found it rather amusing!
